But after about six months the battery doesn't hold a charge, can only have the phone off the charger for ten minutes before the battery is drained. I like many didn't expect much from the phone. It looks decent, and the call quality in my case was fine. The low battery warning comes on about 10 seconds before the phone shuts off, not really a warning. True it is inexpensive but spending time and money finding a replacement battery this early is a pain.
I just received it this week & love it so far. I specifically chose Uniden because the quality of my last one was outstanding.
I replaced the battery once about 5 yrs. I purchased a 900 megahertz Uniden phone back in 1997 & used it constantly for all these years.
So, I purchased this phone as a replacement for the old one. ago.
The technology has changed quite a bit since then, & it has gotten to the point where a new battery for my old phone cost about as much as a whole new phone. If this one lasts half as long as the last, I'll be happy.
I would highly recommend Uniden & this particular phone.
I actually bought two of these for use in our business plant shop floor and they work great. We are very happy with the purchase.
Great phone for the price, clear connection, great features, easy to read caller id (which id hard to find on more expensive phones) overall a really solid choice for the money
The dialing buttons and screen are backlit. The base also has a button to find the phone if it's lost, which has been helpful a few times.Cons:Occasionally a call will drop after I've been talking for a while. I've had this phone for nearly a year and use it every day. The phone has proven to be durable, and the battery life seems good. It seems to need a continuous, minimum volume level to work properly. The screen has 3 lines and displays caller ID info if you have that service. It only runs out of power if I don't charge it for several days.
It doesn't happen often, though. I've been very pleased, especially considering its low cost.Pros:The button layout is intuitive, and the buttons work well and feel nice. This usually happens when I lie down and the antenna is horizontal, and there are several walls between the phone and base. Sound quality is good, and volume is adequate and easily adjustable. I keep the phone near me during the day and return it to the charging base at night. The speakerphone is fine for conversations, but if you're on hold with canned music, the sound turns off and on repeatedly, which is annoying. Lastly, if I hold the phone between my head and shoulder, which I shouldn't do anyway, sometimes the END button is accidentally pressed and the call ended.Overall I've been very happy with this inexpensive phone.
